About NJNC 2025

The 5th Nepal Japan Neurosurgical Conference (NJNC) 2025 is a collaborative international event organized by Neuro Foundation Nepal (NFN) and Tokyo Women’s Medical University in partnership with the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) and Annapurna Neurological Institute & Allied Sciences (ANIAS). Scheduled to take place from 20th to 22nd March 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal, the conference serves as a significant platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and collaboration among neurosurgeons and healthcare professionals from Japan, Nepal, and other parts of the world.

The theme of NJNC 2025 focuses on critical areas of neurosurgery, including:

  1. Movement Disorders
  2. Epilepsy
  3. Psychiatry

A key highlight of the conference is the "Functional Workshop”, an intensive one-and-a-half-day session where participants will explore the advancements and techniques in functional neurosurgery. The workshop offers a unique opportunity for professionals to engage in in-depth discussions, hands-on learning, and exchange of experiences.

By fostering collaboration and friendship between neurosurgeons globally, NJNC 2025 aims to improve patient care, advance clinical practices, and create pathways for future innovations in neurosurgery.

Message from President

Dear Colleagues, It is my immense pleasure and honor in announcing the 5th Nepal Japan Neurosurgical Conference (NJNC) 2025, going to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 20-22nd March 2025 organized by Neuro Foundation Nepal (NFN) & Tokyo Women's Medical University in collaboration with Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) & Annapurna Neurological Institute & Allied Sciences (ANIAS). We will be also organizing "Functional lesioning workshop" in the first one and half day workshop. This is a special and valuable opportunity for all of those who are involved in neurosurgical management in both Nepal and Japan. I hope we can foster our collaboration and friendship through discussing various aspects of clinical problems we are facing every day. I truly hope that all who are involved in neurosurgery in both countries develop friendship and trust to further improve neurosurgical practice.

Dear Colleagues, It gives me enormous pleasure to extend a very warm invitation to you on 5th Nepal Japan Neurosurgical Conference NJNC to be held in March 20-22nd March 2025. We will be also organizing “Art of lesioning workshop” in the first one and half day workshop. On this great event neurosurgeons from Japan, Nepal and all over the world will come together to share their knowledge, skill and experience acquired by them.

We believe that lesioning is becoming an important destination functional neurosurgery.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE:

Abstract closes: 15th February 2025, 11:59 PM Nepal Standard Time (Abstract received after this deadline will not be entertained.)

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The scientific manuscript submitted for presentation at the conference should have the following characteristics:

  • Topics related to conference theme only will be accepted for presentation.
  • The scientific manuscript should be original.
  • The registration to the conference is mandatory to all the presenters/speakers.

ABSTRACT PREPARATION:

The abstracts submitted MUST adhere to the following specifications:

  • The abstracts must be in English, in a Microsoft Word Document with single line spaced, Times New Roman font, 12 font size and page layout with one inch margin on all four sides.
  • Title:
    - Title must be in Bold.
    - No abbreviations should be used in the title.
    - Abstract titles must be limited to twelve words. Titles exceeding the limit will be edited.
    - Do not use capital letters in the title except for words that are always written so.
  • Authors details:
    - Write full names of author(s) and group them together
    - Please omit academic degrees and titles
    - Group the affiliated institutions together, and provide institution names and addresses.
    - Mention the presenting author separately with his/her designation as resident, fellow, faculty, consultant
  • Abstract:
    - Abstract of original research should be presented under following headings:
    Background; Materials and methods; Results and Conclusions. For general reviews, interesting case reports or case series, please prepare it as an unstructured abstract after Title and Author Information.
    - Abstract must be limited to 450 words (excluding the title, author information and key words).
    - Use the International System of Units (SI) exclusively.
    - Key words should be listed at the end in an alphabetical order.
  • Multiple papers: A speaker may submit more than one paper; but must disclose earlier.
  • Type of presentation: Authors must indicate the type of presentation they wish to make, either oral or poster. But the scientific committee holds the right to decide the mode of presentation.
     

ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE AND PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Received abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee. Once the Abstract is accepted; an acceptance letter will be send to the presenter via email who shall then provide the following information in advance to the scientific committee:

  • A short CV of the presenter;
  • A letter of clearance from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) / Ethical Committee / Research Department / Head of the respective institution stating that the study was carried out by the presenter in that center and the institution does not have any objection if the data or case is presented in any conference.
  • The residents/fellow should provide a letter of permission from the head of the Department or the academic coordinator.
  • Final Power Point Presentation by email.
  • For Poster Presentation, the specification and detailed guidelines for poster will be send once poster presentation has been accepted.

After receipt of the above information, the scientific committee will then decide and Final List of Presentation, along with presentation instructions, will be emailed to the presenter.
